Dear Editor:
I want to express my absolute disapproval and upset at the destruction of my Upper Capilano neighbourhood with the increased and accelerated rate at which mature trees are being cut down.
I cannot stand by any longer and watch decent homes and the trees that surround them being cut down. There has to be a change to the bylaws to better protect these trees and to give incentives to developers encouraging them to preserve the green spaces and the trees around our homes.
At the current rate at which trees are being cut on my Montroyal street it will be in short time that we will no longer have stands of trees to enjoy. I would like to see our council and the developers building homes on the North Shore held more accountable for the protection and preservation of these trees before they are all gone.
