Dear editor:

This is to thank a very helpful young man who came to my aid on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 12.

I was driving west on Marine Drive and was close to the Fell and Marine intersection. I had been following a truck that had a loose, large roll of roofing material rolling about in the truck bed with the tailgate missing.

I wondered how long it would stay in the truck bed when, you guessed it, it rolled off onto the road in front of my car. Luckily I had time to stop.

Traffic was busy, as it always is, but I had to get out of the car and move the roofing material off to the side of the road. I quickly found out that it was extremely heavy and managed to shift it a little way. Then I heard this young man ask if I needed help.

You bet I did!

He came to the rescue and was able to get the obstacle off the road quickly.

In my rush to get back into my car I didn't ask for his name. Hopefully, he will see this and know how much I appreciate his help in my time of need.
