Dear Editor:

Back in Nov. 5, I was walking along the West Vancouver Seawall and suddenly felt very ill. I called 911, but because I felt so weak, I couldn’t talk very well. I managed to attract the attention of two ladies who were walking by and they understood what was happening. They took my phone and spoke with the 911 operator and arranged for an ambulance.

Another person came by and said he would go to the street to flag down the ambulance and direct them to where I was. He was apparently a retired chief of police or fire chief.

In any case, I was well looked after by the first responder. Excellent people. Someone even called my landlord’s number at Kiwanis and advised them of the situation. The administrator of the senior’s complex called my daughter. Very thoughtful.
I would like to thank the people who helped me on the Centennial Seawalk and the first responders. They are really special people.
