Dear Editor:

Candidates’ signs at Taylor Way just north of Upper Levels Highway in West Vancouver – is this political overkill or driver distraction?

City crews in Surrey recently removed more than 1,000 signs that were posted closer than 25 metres to a traffic intersection (in violation of a municipal bylaw).

West Vancouver

Editor’s note: West Vancouver bylaws dictate that signs may not be bigger than three square metres or higher than 2.4 metres above the ground and that if they’re on a boulevard in front of private property, the candidates must get permission of the property owner. There are no restrictions on election signs at traffic intersections.
