Re: NV Residents Want Amalgamation Study, June 27 front-page story.
On the topic of amalgamation of the two North Vancouver’s – yes, I say, absolutely, it can’t happen soon enough – but, with one caveat ... the new combined community would require a new name as well (because quite frankly with “Vancouver,” “West Vancouver,” “City” and “District” of North Vancouver), the use of the word “Vancouver” has been beaten to death.
I propose something that we can all relate to, something truly descriptive of the new city/district combo ... why don’t we call it “Gridlock”? Yes, I think that works – “Gridlock” it does truly seem to catch the theme (and people) of the new community.
Now, with that done, what do we call ourselves? Gridlockites or Gridlockians?
