Dear editor:

As the construction projects at the intersection of Ridgewood Drive and Edgemont Boulevard wind down I am hoping that Edgemont between Crescentview and Ridgewood drives will finally be resurfaced, and the poorly paved sidewalk outside [ townhouse development] Edgemont Walk will finally be corrected and redone.

However, having spoken to one of the District of North Vancouver engineers, I have my doubts. He explained that the onus is on the developers, in this case Boffo Properties and [Connaught townhouse developer] Grosvenor, to rectify their damage. If what has already been done outside the Boffo development is anything to go by, the workmanship by their chosen pavers leaves a lot to be desired.

Would it not make more sense for the district to do the work and bill it back to the developers?

The road has at least two major sink holes, pot holes on the southeast corner of Edgemont and no discernable marked lanes. A head-on collision is just waiting to happen, to say nothing of damaged tires.

After all this time, surely the residents, merchants and customers of Edgemont Village are entitled to a decent road, especially as they enter the village from the west side.
