It’ll be more difficult for drone operators to get their unmanned aerial vehicles off the ground following a slew of new regulations announced by the federal government this week.

The new rules, which will come into effect June 1, will apply to all drone operators and will require them to pass an online exam, get a pilot’s certificate and register their drones.

It should be noted: drone operation is already severely limited on the North Shore under Transport Canada rules that ban drone use because of our proximity to Vancouver Harbour.
