Occupation: Operations Planner (P/T)

Number of children:  1

Ages of children: 12

Do you live in the school district that you seek to represent? Yes

For how long have you lived in the district that you represent? 16 years

What higher education qualifications do you hold? B. SC; MBA

What PAC experience have you had? 1 year PAC Chair; 1 year Volunteer Coordinator

What is the single biggest challenge facing the school district and how will you achieve a solution? Adapting to a changing society, and preparing students for a future that at present we can't even imagine while still providing the classic building blocks of education to create strong, independant, responsible and caring thinkers and citizens.

What are your thoughts on the province’s new curriculum? I like the variety using independant inquiry, measuring via capstones, and choices becoming available to students and the use of technology to motivate/inspire students.

Why do we need a school board when so much is dictated by the province?  A school board takes provincial decisions and applies them locally; considering local challenges and opportunities. Local boards also provide local voices to provincial decisions.
