For the second time in three months, police are warning of a scam targeting North Shore residents.

According to West Vancouver police, there has been a spate of robocalls to West Vancouver homes falsely claiming the water system has been contaminated with lead.

The message goes on to tell residents that crews will be in the area to test individual homes.

“The District of West Vancouver has confirmed that there has been no such contamination identified in municipal water supplies,” a statement from West Vancouver police read. “Residents should not allow individuals to attend or enter their home under such a pretense.

Suspicious calls or activity can be reported to West Vancouver Police at 604-925-7300.”

In October 2018, the District of North Vancouver issued a similar warning.
