The body of a man found on West Vancouvers Hollyburn Ridge Tuesday evening wont be identified until Thursday at the earliest, according to police.

The remains, discovered at about 5:30 p.m. by volunteers maintaining a trail near Cypress Bowl Road, are slated to be autopsied tomorrow. Investigators wont be releasing information about the victims identity or cause of death until after that time.

West Vancouver police have deemed the death suspicious, however, and have called in the regional homicide team to investigate.

The body was removed overnight, but the primary access to Cypress Bowl will remain closed at a point just beyond the third switchback while forensics teams continue to comb the area.

Police say they will release more information as it becomes available. Check back here for more.
