A West Vancouver Lamborghini owner left police in Richmond dumbfounded last week when he complained the ticket they issued him for failing to insure his ultra-high-end sports car was too expensive.

An RCMP officer pulled the 22-year-old over just before 6 p.m. Oct. 17 after noticing a problem with his licence plate, according to police. On talking to the driver, the Mountie quickly established the mans 2012 Lamborghini Aventador which retails for as much as $400,000 was uninsured, and handed him a ticket before having the car towed. The man reportedly didnt think that was fair.

When the officer gave the driver a $568 fine for not having insurance, said Cpl. Robert McDonald, spokesman for the RCMPs Lower Mainland District Traffic Services, the driver actually complained the fine was too much money.
