Surprise Dad with a photo-filled scrapbook

FATHER'S Day is the one day where you have the opportunity to thank your father for everything he's done for you over the years.

FATHER'S Day is the one day where you have the opportunity to thank your father for everything he's done for you over the years.

This year why not forgo the standard tie and socks and create something unique for your dad on his special day? A scrapbook made from photographs, artwork and other memorabilia makes for a very personalized and lovely gift.

It's best to start a few days ahead to collect the photographs and artwork and assemble it the day before.

Materials:

Blank scrapbook (available at craft stores)

Photographs, artwork, poems

Glue and Scotch tape

Scissors

Scrapbook decorative items

You may want to create a theme for your book. If your dad loves to play golf, for example, then it may be a nice touch to fill the pages with golf memorabilia. Look for clip art on the Internet to print off on your home computer as well as other decorative items at your local craft store.

Begin by decorating the front of the book with a nice photograph of Dad. Let the kids fill the book with their artwork and randomly scatter photos through the pages.

Once you are done, it's nice to send a personalized message on the last page from yourself or the kids.

Don't forget to wrap the book before you present it to your dad on his day. He will certainly cherish the memories inside as well as the time and effort you put into it.
