North Vancouver commuters are being warned to be cautious and expect possible traffic delays after a group of protesters blocked traffic in the area of Keith Road and Mountain highway at about 3:30 p.m.
About 80 protesters gathered with signs which appeared to be linked to the recent Wet’Suwet’en land dispute.
By 4:30 p.m. the group appeared to have dwindled to about 20 people and be moving in the direction of the Phibbs transit exchange.
Police are warning motorists to avoid the area if possible. “Find an alternate route for the time being,” he said.

Sgt. Peter DeVries of the North Vancouver RCMP warned drivers to stay calm and respectful and watch in case protesters step into the road unexpectedly.
DeVries said RCMP had no immediate plans of getting involved in the protest.
“We deal with these things with the utmost prudence,” he said.
“We understand it can be frustrating to deal with these things. This is part of a living in a democratic society.”
