District of North Vancouver firefighters quickly doused a fire that broke out on an exterior deck of a house in Deep Cove Friday morning.
Firefighters raced to the scene in the 500 block of Fairway Drive shortly after 10:25 a.m. and saw flames on the back deck, said acting assistant chief Kit Little.
Luckily fire crews were able to quickly put out the fire.
One resident who was home at the time got out of the house before firefighters arrived, said Little.
The single-family home sustained some smoke and water damage.
Little said there’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
Fire investigators are still on scene, he said.
