While the sun is expected to peak out a couple of times, the Metro Vancouver weather forecast looks decidedly dreary and damp over the next week.

Staring on Thursday, June 4, Environment Canada calls for a few showers during the day and a high of 18°C. Following this, the evening is expected to be partly cloudy with a low of 12°C. And while Friday is expected to see increasing cloudiness during the day, the forecast isn't calling for any rain.

The dry weather isn't expected to stick around through the weekend, however. Saturday's forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of rain during the day and night. Similarly, Sunday's forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of showers during the day and a 60 percent chance showers at night.

Monday is expected to offer a day's respite from the dreary weather, with the forecast calling for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 19°C; the evening is expected to be cloudy.

The wet weather is expected to return Tuesday, with the forecast calling for a 60 percent chance of showers all day long.

While the Lower Mainland has seen some thunderstorms and rainy stretches over the past few weeks, the long-term forecast looks decidedly warm.

Carmen Hart, Meteorologist, Environment Canada, tells Vancouver Is Awesome in a phone call that the forecast for the rest of June shows above average temperatures.

In May, the province smashed 17 temperature records on Mother's Day

Hart says that the mild weather is expected to continue through the month of June, with models showing temperatures a couple degrees above average. She adds that the average temperature for June is 19.6°C. Read more about the long-term summer forecast HERE.
