Lynn Headwaters Regional Park is open to the public again after heavy rain last weekend and a series of debris slides made the trails and access road unsafe.

“We do have the green light to get folks in the park safely and we’ve had our crews working on the debris slides in Lynn Headwaters. We’ve also had contractors come in to do some more work on those slides,” said Tom McComb, regional operations supervisor for Metro Vancouver parks.

The Lower Lynn Loop Trail, however, remains closed and is likely to stay that way until at least mid-next week. Contractors are scheduled to begin work on the popular hiking route on Tuesday, McComb said.

A new temporary crossing over a creek near the junction of the Baden Powell Trail and BCMC Trail is also expected to be installed before the weekend.
