The City of North Vancouver is looking for a few balanced individuals to help bring balance back to the housing market.

In February, city council agreed to form a “Balanced Housing Lab,” specifically to come up with “new approaches for workforce housing.”

The work is a partnership between the City of North Vancouver, District of West Vancouver, Squamish Nation and senior levels of government. District of North Vancouver council declined to participate.

City council believes the success of the housing lab will be stacking it with a diverse group of folks who have some skin in the game.

Specifically, they are seeking 24 to 30 participants, including people who work on the North Shore but commute from elsewhere; people who have expertise in housing, such as advocates and developers, and people who can influence change, such as policy makers.

Those wanting to participate can read the terms of reference for the Balanced Housing Lab and fill out a questionnaire at cnv.org/city-services/planning-and-policies/housing/housing-lab.

Applicants must fill out the questionnaire by 5 p.m. on Dec. 2.
