The Capilano Rugby Club came away with one championship title following a full slate of provincial finals played at Abbotsford’s Exhibition Park Saturday.
The club took home the men’s Division 3B title, defeating Squamish 12-5 in the final. The 3B squad was known as the “Thirds Over 30” team, with most players landing in that 30+ age bracket. Several Capilano board members suited up for the squad this season, including club president Nick Belmar, vice-president Craig McLaren and past president Kes Kasha.
One other Capilano team was in action on the weekend as the women’s Div. 2 squad claimed silver, falling to the Kelowna Crows 25-10 in the final.
