Rugby Canada’s men’s sevens team, featuring North Shore players Harry Jones and Adam Zaruba, finished fourth at a HSBC Sevens World Series event in Wellington, New Zealand last weekend.
Jones acted as captain for the tournament, which ended with Canada’s first semi-final berth since the 2015 Japan Sevens. The Canadians went 3-0 on opening day in New Zealand before beating Argentina in their first playoff matchup to make the final four. Their medal hopes were dashed, however, by a semifinal loss to South Africa followed by a 28-22 loss against Scotland in the bronze medal match.
The Canadians are back at it this weekend at a World Series event in Sydney, Australia.
