Wesley De Jager won $75,000 playing BC/49 in July 2021.

When Wesley De Jager heard someone from Vancouver was the winner of the July 7 BC/49 draw, he had to check right away to see if he was that lucky someone.

As it so happens...he was. De Jager matched five out of the six and bonus numbers, landing the awe-struck Vancouverite a $75,000 win, according to BCLC.

“It took a moment to settle in… I walked around my apartment in a daze and was pretty happy once it sunk in," says De Jager.

De Jager, who bought the winning ticket from Chevron on MacDonald St, has some wintry fun in mind for his lucky windfall.

He plans to buy some new snowboard equipment with his winnings and is looking forward to taking a trip - and hitting the slopes.
