Vancouverites are spoiled for choice when it comes to transit options. We have multiple modes of transportation available to take us from neighbourhood to neighbourhood. Not many cities can say they have a boat connecting them to the 'burbs (New York and Halifax obviously but few others).
We asked 685 Vancouver Is Awesome readers: What's your favourite type of public transit? Standard bus, trolley bus, SeaBus, or SkyTrain?
Of the options, we can now announce that the trusty SkyTrain holds the dearest place in the hearts of Vancouverites. We can't say we're surprised, the SkyTrain has been discussed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, people have made songs about how great it is, and it's made cameos in so many great movies, TV shows and music videos.
Just over half (51 per cent) voted for the SkyTrain. The SeaBus was the runner-up with 28 per cent of the votes while busses dwindle with less than 10 per cent of votes for either type.
I guess we can't blame people for preferring the sky and sea to plain old road.
