If your social media scroll was slowed today by having to double-check the date stamp on just about anything you read, well, such is life on April 1.

In Metro Vancouver, April Fools' Day was marked online by several witty - or gross - pranks, and not surprisingly, this year's jokes often involved the city's infamous English Bay Barge.

We saw plenty of icky food flavours, like savoury milkshakes and sushi beers, and a little Ryan Reynolds action, though the front runner for the one we'd most like to see happen is Vancouver's own White Spot restaurants, which spoke to the nostalgic kid-at-heart in all of us with their April Fools' promo of a Barge-themed Pirate Pak. (Come on, make it happen!)
