Richmond father and son Pui and Shun Chan are celebrating a Lotto Max win of almost $1 million with a nice family dinner.

They both said they were thrilled when they learned they won the the 6/7+ Bonus prize of $984,940 from the Sept. 20 Lotto Max draw.

To check whether they won, they used the Lotto! app.

"We have played Lotto Max for about 10 years now - we do Quick Picks!" Pui and Shun said.

When asked how it felt to win, they said, “We are both surprised and never thought we would win!”

The Chans bought the winning ticket at the Wal-Mart Supercentre on Alderbridge Way.

So far in 2022, B.C. lottery players have redeemed more than $141 million from Lotto Max.
