Bringing our Children Home: Reflecting On Our Shared History - Tuesday, June 29th, 2021

Reconciliation Canada is hosting an online gathering this evening, Tuesday, June 29th, to honour all children that have been lost to residential schools.

In a release, the organization states that "When we hosted gatherings for the 215 children found buried at the Kamloops (Tk’emlups) Residential School, we knew that more graves would soon be found," and that now that more have been found, "the grief continues."

The gathering is meant to help people understand our shared history, and will be moderated by broadcaster Candy Palmater.

In the words of their ambassador, Chief Dr. Robert Joseph, “As we face these waves of sadness, grief, and trauma, we have to do something and create some results that allow our people and all people to be well and better."

Tune in to 'Bringing our Children Home: Reflecting On Our Shared History' on Facebook or on Zoom from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

For immediate assistance to those who may need it, the National Indian Residential School Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day at 1-866-925-4419.
