RCMP responded to an apparent motor vehicle incident involving a pedestrian the night of March 3, 2022.

A pair of pedestrians are in hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a collision in Coquitlam Thursday night (March 3).

RCMP say both are in stable condition, but now hope the public can provide more evidence and information about the motor vehicle incident.

Around 7:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a collision at the intersection of David Avenue and Johnson Street — located next to the Westwood Plateau Village Shopping Mall.

Police say a grey Honda Pilot collided with two pedestrians while it was travelling on David Avenue, and witnesses tell the Tri-City News one of them was allegedly thrown 30 feet from the intersection.

Both were taken by paramedics to be treated for their injuries.

"The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the police investigation," explains spokesperson S/Sgt. Kyle Simpson in a news release today (March 4).

Mounties are asking anyone driving in the area of David Avenue and Johnson Street around 7:15 p.m. to submit potential dash cam video to help move the case forward.

Anyone with more information is encouraged to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file-number 2022-5583.
