Organizers with the BC Dumpling Festival are looking to secure some extra funding in order to host a second Coquitlam outing this year.
The Asian Arts and Culture Society is turning to the public in hopes of receiving local support for the event, which saw thousands gather in Town Centre Park last August for dumplings, kebabs and other treats.
Now, members are wanting to teach residents about how to make some delicious cuisine at home via a fundraiser later this month.
More specifically, plant-based dumplings will be on the menu as the society explained these were among the most popular at its inaugural festival.
"Please come and support and help raise funds for BC Dumpling Fest 2023," a social media post reads from the Asian Arts and Culture Society.
The dumpling making fundraiser is set to be a collaboration between the non-profit, Marcon Homes, Momo Joy restaurant in Langley and Outpost Port Moody, where the event is set to place Jan. 29 from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Space is limited for interested participants, organizers said.
The cost to register is $50.
