No arrests have been made as police continue to investigate a Port Coquitlam drug bust this past weekend.

However, RCMP say there's no threat to public safety, surrounding neighbourhoods or businesses after a drug possession operation was intercepted.

Spokesperson Const. Deanna Law tells the Tri-City News the detachment received a call for service around 7 a.m. Sunday morning (Nov. 7) in the 1900-block Kingsway Avenue — located north of McLean Avenue and just east of Pitt River Community Middle School.

When police arrived, she says they found an apparent drug possession operation and secured the area.

Officers executed a search warrant alongside specialized units, which later deemed the structure safe.

Law says all items were seized related to the investigation.

No other information is being publicly released at this time.
