Miracle on Rae Street will light up for the public in Port Coquitlam, beginning Dec. 1.

A massive house display with more than 200,000 lights synced to music will kick off the holidays in Port Coquitlam on Wednesday (Dec. 1).

Miracle on Rae Street (3313 Rae St.) will be lit up nightly until Jan. 9, 2022, with funds raised from cash donations going to the food banks run by SHARE Family and Community Services.

In addition to the lights and sound, there will be a 90-foot tall tree and other holiday décor.

To ensure traffic safety, drivers are encouraged to enter Rae Street from Prairie Avenue and exit onto Fremont Street, creating a one-way route.

As many as 10,000 people are expected to view the display that's put up by homeowner Dale Brindley and his friends; the light show raises as much as $8,000 for SHARE.

Social distancing is also recommended by organizers. The hours of display are as follows:

  • Sunday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m.
