Critter Care, the wild animal rehab centre based in Langley, is hoping a 50/50 raffle will help out their bottom line this year.

The Critter Care Wildlife Society runs the centre which takes care of a variety of animals, specializing in mammals. Often they're tasked with raising young animals who've been abandoned or orphaned.

To date they estimate they've saved over 50,000 animals.

The raffle, which started Feb. 20 has raised $22,000 as of right now. The goal for organizers is to reach $100,000, with half of that going to a lucky winner. The other half goes to the centre.

"All proceeds of this fundraiser will go directly to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of our native wildlife," writes the organization on the raffle's website.

As the amount goes up as time goes on, the final prize hasn't been determined yet. That'll happen on April 3, when they draw the winning number.
