If you planned on spending lots of time outdoors over the long weekend, you might want to pack an umbrella.

While there's still a little bit of sunshine in the Vancouver weather forecast this week, the long weekend looks decidedly dreary.

Starting on Tuesday, March 30, Environment Canada calls for mainly cloudy skies with a chilly overnight low of 2°C. Following this, Wednesday is expected to see bright sunshine and a high of 12°C with a milder overnight low of 6°C. Thursday is expected to see a 40 per cent chance of showers during the day and cloudy skies at night.

To kick off the long weekend, however, Friday's forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud. It might be safer to plan your outdoor activities for Friday, as it is expected to be the lone dry day of the weekend.

Following Friday, Saturday and Sunday's forecasts call for a 40 and 60 per cent chance of showers during the day, respectively.

Monday's forecast also calls for a 60 per cent chance of showers during the day.
