More cases of COVID-19 are being reported at Loblaw-owned Asian grocery giant T & T Supermarket - the first ones in a few weeks.
Four T&T locations in Vancouver and Burnaby have now seen staff members test positive for coronavirus.
According to the T & T COVID-19 case tracker, a part-time employee at the store in Metropolis at Metrotown in Burnaby tested positive and last worked on Feb. 11.
Another T&T case is at the Marine Gateway Store, 458 SW Marine Dr, Vancouver. The last day the employee worked was on Feb. 14.
Since those two events, staff have tested positive at the T&T on Keefer Place in Vancouver’s Chinatown (worker’s last shift was Feb. 15) and the T&T on First Avenue in Vancouver (worker’s last shift was Feb. 17).
This follows several recent cases at the Real Canadian Superstore at Metropolis at Metrotown. The last shift for two of the workers was on Jan. 31, while the worker in the newest case last worked on Feb. 9.
Other employees at major grocery chains in Metro Vancouver are among the British Columbians who have recently tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of retail chains Real Canadian Superstore and No Frills provided updates to its COVID-19 employee case listings on Feb. 17, indicating the following affected stores:
- Alfie's No Frills, 1688 - West 4th Avenue, Vancouver: The last day the team member worked was on February 7.
- Michael’s No Frills, 5501 204 St., Langley. Worker’s final shift was Feb. 15.
- Real Canadian Superstore, 32136 Lougheed Hwy, Mission. Worker’s last shift was Feb. 15.
- Real Canadian Superstore, 3000 Lougheed Hwy, Coquitlam: The last day the team member worked was on February 14.
- Real Canadian Superstore, 1301 Lougheed Hwy, Coquitlam: The last day the team member worked was on February 12.
- A staff member at a New Westminster pharmacy has tested positive for COVID-19 – part of a new round of cases at Lower Mainland businesses with cases. The Shoppers Drug Mart at 288 East Columbia St. has the positive test. The worker’s last shift at the pharmacy was on Feb. 15.
Sobeys Inc, which operates stores in the region like Safeway and Thrifty Foods, updated its B.C. coronavirus employee case tracker on Feb. 18 to include a confirmed case at the Safeway at 1033 Austin Ave., with the worker’s last shift on Feb. 14.
