COVID-19 discovered at Burnaby T&T in new wave of grocery store cases

Multiple cases reported across Metro Vancouver

Several major grocery and drug store chains across the Lower Mainland have reported new employee coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, including a new one at the T&T store in Burnaby.

T&T has added a new B.C. case to its tracker at the store in Metropolis at Metrotown with the worker’s last shift listed as April 21. The company also lists a case its Osaka/Park Royal Store - 2200 Park Royal South, West Vancouver: The last day the employee worked was April 21.

Loblaw Companies Ltd, the parent company of Real Canadian Superstore, Shoppers Drug Mart, and No Frills provided updates to its COVID-19 employee case listings over the weekend, indicating the following affected stores in the region:

  • Shoppers Drug Mart, 3215 St. John Street, Port Moody: The last day the team member worked was on April 20.
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 32136 Lougheed Highway, Mission: The last day the team member worked was on April 13.
  • Shoppers Drug Mart, 17790 Highway 10, Surrey: The last day the team member worked was on April 22.
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 14650 - 104th Avenue, Surrey: The last day any of the five infected team members worked was on April 15, 17, 20 and 22.
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 7550 King George Boulevard, Surrey: The last day either of the two infected team members worked was on April 14 and 19.
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 45779 Luckakuck Way, Chilliwack: The last day the team member worked was on April 19.
  • Real Canadian Superstore, 19851 Willowbrook Drive, Langley: The last day either of the two infected team members worked was on April 13 and 18.

Additionally, on Monday (April 26) Loblaw logged a case affecting a store worker from Shoppers Drug Mart in Penticton, in the Interior Health region, to its case tracker.

Sobeys, Inc, the parent company of Safeway, Thrifty Foods, and franchisor of discount grocery chain FreshCo, has added new cases affecting workers at its Safeway stores to its online B.C. case tracker

  • Safeway - 700 – 15355 24 Avenue, Surrey: The last day the employee worked was April 18
  • Safeway at 1033 Austin Avenue in Coquitlam has two cases from separate dates
  • Safeway on Robson Street in Vancouver.
