A Burnaby woman has a new place to call home.

The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) revealed yesterday (Sept. 12) that the winner of the 88th annual PNE Prize home is Barb Bamford.

The 3,408 sq-ft. home is located in Langley and features three bedrooms, two-and-a-half bathrooms and a media room.

The house also has a one bedroom, one bathroom legal guest suite, a first for the PNE Prize Home.

“It is our great privilege to announce Barb as the winner of this year’s PNE Prize Home,” president and CEO of the PNE Shelley Frost said in a news release.

“Steeped in tradition, the PNE Prize Home represents the high standard of construction, technology and innovation that B.C. is known for. We are so pleased to congratulate Barb – the proud new owner of this luxurious home in Langley, B.C.”

The home also includes an EV charger, 12 solar panels measuring 4.08 kW, triple pane windows and an all-electric heat pump system to cool and heat the house.

The PNE says the grand prize package was worth $2.4 million.

Other prizes included vehicles from Chevrolet, $100,000 in cash prizes, a Sport Trek Trailer, Harley Davidson motorcycle and two Harley Davidson electric bikes.

There were 792,548 tickets sold to guests at the fair, online and by phone.
