White House Design Co., headed up by North Vancouver fashion designer Jan Stimpson, has been ranked among Canada's fastest-growing companies.
The women's clothing business placed 171 on the 2014 Profit 500, an annual list published online at Profitguide.com and in the July issue of Canadian Business. The Profit 500 evaluates private and public businesses in all sectors on five-year revenue growth. According to the rankings, White House grew its revenue 353 per cent between 2008 and 2013. The company's 2013 revenue range was pegged between $10-$19.9 million and it had 111 employees.
White House, under its Sympli and Sympli Grand labels, designs and manufactures lifestyle clothing in the Lower Mainland with a focus on styles and fabrics meant to flatter a variety of body shapes.
White House wholesales the Sympli line to more than 800 retailers in Canada and the U.S. On the North Shore, shoppers can find the label at Phoenix and BJ's Fashions in West Vancouver and Nina's Boutique and Twiga in North Vancouver.
At the Profit 500 awards held in Toronto in June, White House was also named the winner of this year's BDO Business Value Award in recognition of its efforts to maximize the value of the company.
Last year White House ranked 187 on the Profit 500 list and Stimpson placed fourth on the W100 ranking of Canada's Top Female Entrepreneurs, produced by Profit and Chatelaine.
