Society fundraiser

Capilano University accounting student Sogol Khadivi is the recipient of a $4,000 student grant from the Neekoo Philanthropic Society, which was established by a group of local Iranian professionals and raises funds to give back to the community, mainly by helping students through grants. Khadivi was awarded due to her academic interests as well as for her role in Bully Busters, an initiative that supports United Way anti-bullying programs at her school. Community members are invited to the society’s upcoming fundraiser, the third annual Neekoo Soiree, May 16 at Granville Island’s Performance Works at 6:30 p.m. featuring fine wine, gourmet food, a silent auction and live entertainment.
