IT'S that time of year again where the children must say goodbye to their teachers.
With the school year coming to a close it's always nice to give your child's teacher a small token of your appreciation.
Most teachers will agree that the nicest gifts are the ones made by the students. The time and thought put into them make them even more special.
A scrapbook filled with pages designed by all of the kids in the class is a wonderful gift idea for any elementary school teacher. Each page is decorated by a student and filled with his or her own photographs, pictures and poems.
If you give yourself a week to organize it in co-operation with the parents of your child's classmates, the results will be well worth it.

The idea of the scrapbook is to give each student in the class a removable page that they take home with them and decorate. Adding photos of themselves, drawings and poems are just some of the ideas they may want to put on their page. Another nice idea is to print a page of "fill-inthe-blank" sayings for each student to glue to the back side of their page.
Once you have assembled all the pages from the students you can attach the clear page protectors. This will give the book a professional look and keep it tidy for many years.
Now you are ready to decorate the front of the book. A class photo is nice here or perhaps you may want to paint the front and back of the book and decorate with small items. The scrapbooking section of craft stores is filled with a variety of small items to decorate with. The possibilities are endless.
Wrap the book in clear cellophane and present it to the teacher at the end of the year. It's a guaranteed emotional and heartfelt gift.
