Calling all Geektopians!

The Harbour Event Centre is hosting a new Vancouver comic convention this July, which will feature cosplay, panels, guests, vendors and artists.

The event, Geektopia: Vancouver Fan & Comic Convention, invites guests to enter a world of fantasy that specializes in all genres of entertainment and fandoms. Whether you are a fan of sci-fi, retro gaming, comic books, fantasy, anime, or horror, there’ll be an opportunity to dive deeper into your cherished genre.

Fans of cosplay will also have the chance to strut their stuff in the Geektoptia 2019 Cosplay Competition. Judges will review contestants and eliminate until they are down to two people. From there, there are two separate prizes: the J.F.F (Just For Fun) with a cash prize of $150, and the Master Craftsperson with a cash prize of $250.

A number of special guests will also be on hand that include Tracey Moore (the original voice of Sailor Moon), Annette Reilly (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), YouTuber Joel Daly and more.

Part of the proceeds from the event will also go in support of the Amanda Todd legacy. The organizers hope to shine a light the many forms of bullying and cyberbullying.
