Cruise story wins NATJA travel journalism award

Janice and George Mucalov recognized for North Shore News article on UnCruise Adventures

Travel writers Janice and George Mucalov have won a Finalist Award in the Cruise (Print) category in the 2017 North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) travel writing competition for their North Shore News article, “Adventure Cruise Dives into Natural World.”

Published in the Friday, April 14, 2017 issue of the News, the piece documented the Mucalov’s trip from Costa Rica to Panama on the Uncruise Line’s Safari Voyager.

Other winners in the Cruise category were: Theresa Medoff, “Discoveries Along the Danube,” AAA Worldwise (Gold); Debbra Brouillette, “Eternal appeal,” Ft. Worth Star-Telegram (Silver); Christoph Niemann, “North,” National Geographic Traveler (Bronze) and Janice Wald Henderson, “First Look,” Private Clubs (Finalist).

The North American Travel Journalists Association announced the 2017 Award Winners for Excellence in Travel Journalism on Feb. 7. The winners will be recognized at the 2018 NATJA Conference in Branson, Missouri, April 24-27.
