Canadian DJ/turntablist extraordinaire Kid Koala collaborates with his audiences at The Annex as part of a live show connected with the Vancouver International Film Festival on Oct. 5 through 7.
He’s released a video for the track “Satellite” featuring Icelandic vocalist Emilíana Torrini from the 2017 album Music To Draw To: Satellite, the inaugural volume in a planned series features where Kid Koala will collaborate with a vocalist.
VIFF says in the Oct. 5 to 7 shows at The Annex, “the audience collaborates in groups of four at stations equipped with a turntable, an effects box and a small crate of colour-coded records. Through subtly coloured lighting changes in the room, they’re cued to play along – DJs in a spontaneous collective, collaborating to create an “ambient vinyl orchestra.”
