Ann Peebles - “I Can't Stand the Rain” (Track of the Day)

Ann Peebles’ wrote “I Can’t Stand the Rain” on one rainy night in Memphis in 1973, with Don Bryant and DJ Bernie Miller, and recorded it in one take the next day at Royal Studios.

Don Bryant, was one of Hi Records’ staff writers, and married Peebles the year after the release of "I Can't Stand the Rain." He finally got around to releasing his own solo debut in 2017, Don't Give Up on Love, on Fat Possum Records.
