Andrew Loog Oldham has begun a new series of podcasts called Sounds and Vision. A fascinating take on pop culture from a critical source.

Andrew Loog Oldham became the original manager/producer of the Rolling Stones at the age of 19, then founded England’s first indie label, Immediate Records, and wrote about it all in his fascinating three volumes of autobiography (so far): 2Stoned, Rolling Stoned and Stone Free.

He is adding a new chapter with a series of podcasts, called Sounds and Vision, which began last month with Oldham talking to photographer Mick Rock. “(Rock) often referred to as ‘The Man Who Shot the Seventies’, for his iconic images of Syd Barrett, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Queen, the Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Blondie, Rocky Horror Picture Show, etc. London born, he has resided in New York for the past 35 years. He has shot over 100 album covers including: Lou Reed’s Transformer and Coney Island Baby, Iggy and The Stooges’ Raw Power, Queen’s Queen II (recreated for their classic music video ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’) and Sheer Heart Attack, The Ramones’ End of the Century and Joan Jett’s I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Listen to the podcast here: soundsandvision.libsyn.com/0002-mick-rock.
