The following is a selection of volunteer opportunities from various community organizations, made available through Volunteer North Shore, a service of North Shore Community Resources Society.

Various Volunteer Positions A range of opportunities exist for non-lawyers to assist staff and lawyers in serving the public. These include direct service roles for articling students, paralegals, notaries and law students, and support roles for post-secondary students and others.

Driver (Medical Rides) This service assists seniors who are unable to use public transit or the Go Bus and when HandyDart, family or friends are not available. Drivers will accompany the senior door-to-door and to and from the waiting room of appointments. Volunteers are not allowed to attend appointments with patient.

Warehouse Volunteer Duties include unpacking, sorting and stocking food donations. Person should be able to lift items up to a maximum of 30 pounds.

Door-to-Door Fundraiser Volunteer Volunteers are needed to canvass door-to-door in their neighbourhood to raise awareness of the seriousness of impaired driving and collect donations to support MADD’s community and victim support programs.

Appointment Taker Volunteer is needed one morning per week during February, March and April to book appointments for eligible income tax clients.
