North Shore students take part in provincewide earthquake drill

Almost a million people at homes, workplaces and schools across the province were expected to take part in the annual Great BC ShakeOut Thursday morning.

Billed as the largest earthquake preparedness drill in Canada, participants practiced how to drop, cover and hold on in the event of an earthquake.

Many North Shore schools participated in the event, which was set to take place at 10:17 a.m. Thursday morning.
