Song on the high seas: Carol ships set to sail Saturday

This Saturday promises to be a night of sights and songs as a flotilla of carol ships sail past Panorama Park in Deep Cove at 7:30 p.m.

The event, which typically features Deep Cove boaters piloting festively decorated twinkling vessels, also includes music, free craft workshops, a bonfire and a possible appearance by a right jolly old elf.

Besides putting a glow on the water, the event is also meant put food on the table for residents in need. Donations of unwrapped gifts as well as canned foods, condiments, rice, pasta, toiletries and diapers will be accepted during the event to support the Harvest Project and Family Services North Shore.
