Fans of splashing got a taste of the new water feature in the City of North Vancouver’s Foot of Lonsdale Plaza last weekend and are eagerly looking for more.

Visitors flocked to the new fountain beside Polygon Gallery on the North Vancouver Waterfront during recent test runs in the hot early summer. The new water feature includes a few large boulders spaced out on a spongy surface over which a thin stream of recycled water flows.

According to city staff, the water is currently turned off as final work is completed on the feature over the next week. Once it’s fully operational the splashing will be non-stop from early morning to late at night, seven days a week.

There are also plans for lounge furniture to be placed in the splash zone in the next month or so.
