Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society receives $10,000 boost

Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society vice-president and fundraising co-ordinator George Garrett gratefully receives $10,000 in Chevron gas certificates from Parkland Fuel Corporation’s community affairs lead Shannon Urquart. The donation will go towards offsetting a portion of the Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society’s gas expenses.

The Volunteer Cancer Drivers Society conducted 1,804 patient trips from the North Shore in 2018, with 25 drivers donating 2,739 volunteer hours and logging 44,479 kilometres to provide transportation services to North Shore residents requiring cancer treatment.
