A Grade 10 Argyle Secondary student recently helped the school reach a new fundraising milestone of $50,000 for local charities through the Youth and Philanthropy Initiative.

Sarah Hrabinsky received a $5,000 grant that will go towards the charity of her choice, which in this case is North Shore Community Resources Society, after she researched and presented on the work the organization does in front of a panel.

This year’s judging panel included Argyle principal Kim Jonat, District of North Vancouver Mayor Mike Little, school board trustee Cyndi Gerlach, and City of North Vancouver Coun. Holly Back.

This is the 10th year that Argyle’s Grade 10 students have participated in the program.
