There’s Christmas concerts, festive light displays, and plenty of tree lots and more for you to visit or take in on the North Shore this weekend.

The North Shore’s own Four Destinations Records is hosting Winterfest 2018 tonight at the Pipe Ship in Lower Lonsdale. This celebration of the local record label’s successes over the past year will feature headlining performances from some of the best indie rock/pop, hip-hop, electronic and underground artists this side of the Burrard Inlet, including Landmark 20, tyler skyy, Ashley Pater Music and Destination Unknown, Leo, and Liam Sturgess. Tickets are $15 and the event runs from 5 to 10 p.m.

The Marcus Mosely Chorale, comprised of more than 60 singers from throughout Metro Vancouver, are set to perform their expansive Light of Love show at Highlands United Church on Edgemont Drive tomorrow starting at 7:30 p.m. The group’s style fuses gospel with soul and jazz, and the concert will also feature the young singers and dancers known as The Showstoppers. For more information or tickets visit mmc2011.ca or call 604-770-1088.

This seems like it would be the last reasonable weekend for you to go out and get your Christmas tree, right? Not that there’s anything wrong with being that person who scrambles to get their tree at the last minute! For those in need of some festive foliage, visit the 11th Seymour Scouts troop’s annual Christmas Tree Fundraiser lot at Parkgate Shopping Centre. Six different varieties of trees will be for sale, with the lot open Monday to Thursday, 5-8 p.m., Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Chor Leoni Men’s Choir is performing its annual slate of Christmas concerts this weekend, including a show at West Vancouver United Church tomorrow at 3 p.m. Expect to hear a bevy of warmly familiar Christmas melodies, as well as glorious new works and joyous a cappella harmonies.

The holidays can be stressful, so lighten up! There’s plenty of excellent seasonal Christmas displays across the North Shore – from businesses and public spaces, to people’s residences – that are worth checking out. Every year our photographers try and capture as many of these light shows as they can, and we’ve put together a map and photo gallery of some of what’s on display this season for you to check out.
