West Vancouver Community Arts Council's Community Art Project was unveiled Monday, Sept. 16 at the Kay Meek Arts Centre at West Vancouver Secondary. The collaborative art project featured 21 canvases that members of the public contributed as part of the First Thursdays Art Walks that took place throughout the summer in the Ambleside and Dundarave neighbourhoods. Self-guided tours of local galleries, including the Ferry Building Gallery, Silk Purse, West Vancouver Art Museum and Buckland Southerst Gallery, featured painting stations where the 21 canvases were created. Visitors to the galleries were encouraged to pick up a brush and add their own touch to the collaborative community art project.
