What could possibly be the last North Shore Pioneer Skiers Reunion took place on Mount Seymour on Sept. 18 with more than 60 lovers of the outdoor life gathering to renew old friendships and swap stories from the early days of skiing on the North Shore mountains, and the once thriving and lively cabin communities they supported. Reunion host Alex Douglas, a decades-long Mt. Seymour Resort employee and caretaker of the Mt. Seymour History Project who lives on the mountain in what was the original park ranger cabin, shared hosting duties of the reunions with Hollyburn Heritage Society’s Don Grant. The two supplied plenty of old photographs, maps, brochures and trophies from ski racing and jumping for guests to reminisce over. mtseymourhistory.com
